Design Principles

Below lists my design principles and values that I follow during my design process, adapting them to the specific requirements of each project. When possible and available, I regularly test and gather feedback to refine my designs, ensuring that accessibility, consistency, aesthetic appeal, and simplicity remain at the forefront of the user experience considerations.

#1

Inclusive
Interaction

Prioritize accessibility to ensure a seamless experience for users of all abilities. Implement features such as alternative text for images, keyboard navigation, and other accessibility standards in compliance with WCAG. Design with empathy, creating interfaces that welcome and accommodate diverse user needs.

Foster consistency across design elements to establish a coherent and intuitive user journey. This includes consistent navigation, visual styles, and interactive patterns to enhance user understanding and engagement. By maintaining unified design components and experiences, this creates a sense of familiarity and trust for users.

Unified User Experience

#3

Aethestic Harmony with Purpose

Unite visual appeal with functionality by implementing the Aesthetic–Usability Effect. This includes thoughtfully incorporating visual elements to not only enhance the overall aesthetic, but also contribute to the usability of the interface itself. Strive for a design that is both visually pleasing and purposeful, reinforcing a positive user experience and leaving a lasting impression.

Embrace the "less is more" philosophy to streamline the end goal of the user experience. Prioritize essential content and functionality, eliminating unnecessary elements that may distract or overwhelm users. A minimalist approach not only aligns with modern design trends, but also ensures that users can focus on what truly matters, resulting in a more intuitive and user-friendly experience.
